old dude was hard to work with, kept interrupting and acted like he had to keep proving that he was smarter than me. He kept trying to get me to apply for a credit card to buy a $1400 bike. Only good thing was the design of the shop
I love Contes! The team at the store is super friendly and very talented. I have been riding less than a year and they have taught me everything I know about the sport. They host various group rides that will help you learn the sport first and then excel and ride with other more experienced riders.
Jeff also helped me out big time in clarifying some last second technical questions which I had and it is very much appreciated.
I recently had a intermittent manufacture issue with my bike I purchased at Contes that was insanely difficult to diagnose and correct. I must have went into Contes bike shop nearly ten times for them to look at it and every time I went in they were understanding and professional. If you have ever had an issue that never seems to appear when the right person is there to fix it, these things can become quite frustrating. After many attempts I finally had the issue appear in the shop. They diagnosed the problem to the best of their ability and realized ultimately it was a manufacture issue. They ended up replacing the bike with a brand new one, one year newer, at no cost to me!
Contes is a local brand, with a staff that actually care about their people more than just customers, but also as friends. I highly recommend them for anything bike related, whether just getting into the sport or an experienced rider.
My hat, or helmet, is off to the both of these gentlemen. It is great to see true customer service is still around!
I've been to all bike shops in the area but the service at Conte's brings me back. I attended their free classes when I first got into cycling and learned all the basics of bike maintenance from Jeff and met a few other members of the local cycling community. I got some of my most used biking accessories that I couldn't find elsewhere (online included).
I went by the shop to order a pair of MTB shoes, things didn't go so well with the shipment, not Jeff's fault, But Jeff made things right by extending his expertise and helping set my bike up to fit me. He even cleaned my bike and did a quick once over to make sure I was in good shape, plus a phone call a week later. That's great customer service!
I do not write reviews...but the service I was provided by Sandy went above and beyond what is normally provided by local bike shops. This is now MY local bike shop and I would not hesitate to refer someone to this shop.
