This was my first experience with Lidl. But it will NOT be my last. LOVED IT. As you enter the bakery offers dougnuts, etc., serve yourself for from .49 To ,95. Did not try but looked wonderful, and fresh baked loaves. The store was very clean. I got a box of honey nut cereal for $1.15, a big bag of tortilla chips for only .95, and a spray bottle of fabric stain remover for 2.09. Remember to bring you own shopping bag, which I remembered, my total was like I remember prices being at the grocery store years ago....only $4.37.....I am amazed at the cost and quality of items. Frozen foods, although I did not get today had a large selection, along with fresh dairy products. I noticed other buying boxes, or crates of products. I heard one woman say that she did not expect to have to go to store for a couple months. Sounds like a good idea perhaps? Glenda Jenkins, Newport News.
Great place for bakery items that are always made fresh throughout the day. I would recommend the maple pecan roll, the hazelnut croissant, and any of their cookies. They have their own brand of products that are always of the same quality, or better quality than name brand items. They also have an aisle in the middle of the store, towards the back, that has seasonal items that are great prices. They have great gift items for people of all ages, along with clothing items including shoes. They have a great wine selection and occasionally have wine tastings so you can try select wines.
They also have great produce that always look fresh and they seem to have very unique items at certain times. You cam also look out for items that ate close to their sell by dates and get the items at great discounts for use within a day or two. It is just an excellent place to get everything you need to get at a grocery store and some things you wouldn't normally look for at a grocery store, all at really really great prices and quality. Just think of it as a combination of Aldi, Whole Foods, and trader Joe's in one.
The customer service here is OUT STANDING. I love good customer service and they have it down pat. The store is super clean everything is easy to find just make sure you don't forget to bring your own bags.
Amazing food! Amazing Prices! I normally spend $120 a week at other stores for food! I can get the same item plus more for around $60! This store has a new loyal customer! 5/5 would rate higher if possible!
I would have oven this Lidl a 5 except for the check out experience. Some of us don’t throw our groceries haphazardly in the bags & go, but want our food purchases to make it safely home. My check out person turned to me and stated, “ if another customer comes through ( past you), I am going to have to put you on the payroll!” I felt rushed and then lost my prescription glasses in the process!
